Yesterday, Wordpress released an update to version 2.1 of their blogging platform. This update, now version 2.1.2, wasn’t a regular update, with the normal bug-fixes. It seems that hackers managed to gain access to the servers that host the Wordpress downloads. From there they added some “unusual and highly exploitable code.” The Wordpress team responded quickly to get things fixed, and got a new, malicious-code-free, version ready for download yesterday afternoon.
