WP-Cache NoSymlink 2.1.2 Released

It’s about 2 weeks late, but here it is. Ricardo has made an official release that fixes the Content-type problem in the header. I have updated WP-Cache NoSymlink accordingly, and I have also updated the gzip version, which you can download here.

  1. in README-FIRST.txt you write the point: 3) remember make sure you have g-zip compression turned off under the Miscellaneous options menu

    but in your article: http://twentythree7.com/2007/08/27/wp-cache-nosymlink-now-with-gzip/

    it can use gzip.

    So, can it use gzip??

As long as you’re using the plugin I’ve provided here, then you can serve your pages with gzip compression. However, rule #3 from the readme still stands. You cannot have gzip enabled in the miscellaneous option page of your dashboard. The plugin has a function built in that automatically tells WP-Cache to serve your pages gzipped.

  3. eh, i use WP 2.3.1 option WordPress should compress articles (gzip) if browsers ask for them is in Reading Option, not in Misc

Good call… you can find it under the reading tab of the options menu. It’s turned off by default, so unless you’ve had it on before, you shouldn’t need to worry about it.
